School of Culture and Creativity--Assistant Instructor of Animation and Interactive Media


The School of Culture and Creativity at UIC now invites applications for the position of Assistant Instructor in the Department of Film, Television and New Media, which will be expected to be filled in August/September 2024.

Job Description 

      1. Responsible for assisting in the teaching of practice-based and technology-oriented courses for Animation and Interactive Media (AIM) Programme, such as Production Methods, Virtual and Augmented Reality, Digitising Heritage, etc.
2. Responsible for the acquisition and maintenance of facilities and equipment for the AIM Programme. 
3. To fulfill the role of Academic Advisor to AIM students.
4. Other duties as assigned by the Department or the School.

Job Requirement 
1. Preferably an MFA in Animation, or Game Design, and/or Computer Science with a background in the Arts/Design field, at least an MA in Animation, or Interactive Media, or Game Design
2. Proficient in both English and Mandarin 
3. Working experience preferred, especially coding experience in Unity, but not a must.
4. Knowledge of 2D/3D animation, VR, AR, XR, generative AI, game development. Interested in learning/setting up generative AI software and platforms such as Stable Diffusion, large language models.
5. Evidence of good communication skills, and be able to work independently and as a good team player.
