Job Requirements
The Tourism, Hospitality and Event Management (THEM) Programme is seeking candidates with expertise in one or more areas of Smart and Leisure Tourism, Sustainable Tourism in the context of Tourism and Service Innovation. Experience and practice in the Tourism, Hospitality and Event Management fields are highly expected. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching, managing, supervising, facilitating field trips, tutoring and caring for UG students.
Candidates should have a Ph.D. degree in the Tourism, Hospitality or relevant fields. The candidate should be qualified to teach UG courses in one or more areas such as Guest Experience Management, Leisure Management, Smart Tourism Development, Club Management, Service Management, Hotel Information Management, Service Design Thinking, Sports Management, Cultural Tourism and Hospitality, Intercultural Management, Sustainable Tourism Development, Cultural Club Management.
Proficiency in English is required. English is the medium of instruction in the Tourism, Hospitality and Event Management. Academic rank will be determined in accordance with the successful candidate’s experience and research accomplishments.

Qualifications/ Education

· Preferably a PhD in Tourism and Hospitality, or Information Technology related. |
· Membership of relevant professional bodies. · Postgraduate qualification in Teaching and Learning in the Higher Education or equivalent professional bodies. |
Skills/ Training

· Ability to teach Smart Tourism Development, Data-Driven Analytics in Business, Guest Experience Management, Leisure Management, Cultural Tourism and Hospitality, Intercultural Management, Sustainable Tourism Development, Cultural Club Management. |
· Proficient in the following designing tools: Python, Opera or Fidelio · Having proficiency in the following programming Python or JavaScript. |
Experience
|
· Preferably three years of teaching experiences in higher education institutions. · Having experience in in course/ programme/curriculum design/ development. |
· Proved experience in management and administration. · Evidence of working with external institutions (industry or academia). · Sustained PhD completions. |
Language Skills |
· Proficient in English. |
· Proficient in Mandarin Chinese. |

Benefits and Appointment Terms
Commencing salaries will be commensurate with qualifications and relevant experience. Fringe benefits include housing allowance, leave and social insurance. Appointment to this position will initially be made on a fixed-term contract with mutual agreement.
