Job Description
UIC now invites candidates for this position which is expected to be filled in February/September 2021:

Laboratory Technician is a position giving supports to laboratory courses including but not limit to prepare materials before and after the undergraduate lab courses. He/she will be required to support daily maintenance and operation of equipment from small devices (such as PCR, electrophoresis apparatus, spectrophotometer, air quality testing equipment etc.) to major analytical instruments (such as HPLC, ICP, GC/MS, FTIR,and GlS) etc. Other job duties may include:
1. Give daily maintenance, safety and logistics management of laboratories;
2. Participate in some other academic activities such as research project, field study, and teaching support works occasionally.

Job Requirement
1. Candidates should have a Bachelor degree or above in either one of the following disciplines: environmental science and engineering, biological science (e.g Biology, Biotechnology, Biochemistry, Microbiology etc.), Chemistry, or Geography and Earth Science (eg. GIS and RS);
2. Candidates should have good communication skill, team spirit, and motivation;
3. Good command of English in both writing and speaking;
4. The candidate needs to work in normal working hour; however, working in outdoor, irregular hours and weekends may be required occasionally.
