The School of Culture and Creativity at BNBU now invites applications for the position of Assistant Instructor in the Department of Film, Television and New Media, which will be expected to be filled in September 2026.
Job Description
1.To assist in the preparation of programme management documentation, including teaching schedules, course outlines, assessment records, and accreditation paperwork.
2.To contribute to the production of programme promotion materials, brochures, student handbooks, and online content.
3.To coordinate the setup of game labs and digital production facilities, including procurement of hardware/software and testing of equipment.
4.To provide technical support and basic maintenance for lab infrastructure (e.g., game engines, 3D software, rendering systems, VR/AR tools).
5.To assist academic staff in developing teaching materials and course content (especially in areas such as introductory game design, production pipelines, or digital tools).
6.To support the design and documentation of new elective courses and workshops.
7.To provide technical and classroom assistance during lab-based classes and production studios.
8.To help organise student orientations, workshops, and community-building events.
9.To maintain effective communication channels with students and provide administrative support for programme logistics.
Job Requirements
1.Preferably an MFA, or at least an MA in Game Design, Digital Media, Animation, Computer Science, or a related field.
2.Proficiency in both English and Chinese.
3.Prior experience working in an academic or creative industry setting is a plus, particularly in a support or coordination role (e.g., course design, event planning, or lab management).
4.Solid knowledge and hands-on experience in game development, including programming languages such as C# and Python, as well as design tools like Unity, Blender, and Unreal Engine. Familiar with VR, AR, and XR technologies, and actively exploring generative AI platforms such as Stable Diffusion, Comfy UI, and large language models.
5.Skills in graphic design, multimedia editing, or promotional content creation.
6.Good organizational and communication skills.
