Position Overview:
Responsible for bridging for academic operations and information systems, focusing on business process optimization and product-oriented implementation. This role ensures that system functionalities align with operational needs and strategic goals, working closely with the Information Technology Services Centre and other stakeholder departments.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Academic Systems Management & Oversight

Assume overall responsibility for the functionalities of the Student Information Systems, including Course Timetabling, Selection and Add/Drop, Student Grade System, Study Plan System, etc., and their integration with other platforms such as the Student Affairs System and the Self-help Printing System.

Ensure in-depth understanding of system architecture, workflows, business logic, and data structures across all applications on student servicing.

Monitor system performance, proactively identify risks, and implement improvements to guarantee stability, availability, and responsiveness.

Collaborate with the Information Technology Services Centre to drive system enhancements, testing, and implement improvements, ensuring outcomes meet business expectations.
2. Data Integrity & Optimization

Maintain and enhance the quality, accuracy, and consistency of student data across systems.

Develop and enforce data governance standards, including data entry protocols, validation rules, and periodic audits.

Optimize system configurations and processes to improve operational efficiency and user experience for both staff and students.
3. Cross-Departmental Collaboration & Liaison

Serve as the primary point of contact between the Academic Registry and the Information Technology Services Centre on all technical matters, including infrastructure, security, system integration, and project implementation.

Collaborate with other administrative and academic units (e.g., Faculties/Schools, Admission Office, Finance Office, Human Resources Office, etc.) to understand business requirements and translate them into technical specifications.

Facilitate communication between technical teams and non-technical stakeholders to ensure alignment on priorities, timelines, and deliverables.
4. User Support & Training

Provide technical guidance and support to Academic Registry colleagues on system usage and troubleshooting.

Develop training materials and conduct training sessions to enhance digital literacy and system proficiency within the Academic Registry.
Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.

Minimum 3 years of experience in IT system management and development, with proficiency in programming languages such as Python and C.

Solid understanding of student information systems, database management (SQL), and system integration.

Proven ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders, and to bridge gaps between business needs and technical solutions.

Excellent problem-solving skills, with a proactive and collaborative working style.

Ability to analyze and redesign academic workflows for efficiency and system implementation.

Translate business requirements into system functionalities and rules.

Strong product thinking with focus on usability and process optimization.

Fluency in English and Chinese is required.

Experience in university academic affairs or educational technology is preferred.
