Part-time Lecturer and above in Master of Arts in Communication Studies Concentration (Ref:FHSS250710)

Job Description:

The taught postgraduate programme – Communication Studies Concentration Concentration (MACOMM) is seeking part-time Professor/Associate Professor/Assistant Professor/Lecturer to teach courses in Communication Studies and related fields. The appointee will be responsible for:

1. Teaching undergraduate and/or postgraduate courses in areas such as, but not limited to:

  • Communication Theories
  • Media and Cultural Communication
  • Advanced Communication Practice
  • Digital Communication Technologies
  • Other relevant topics in the field of Communication Studies
2. Preparing teaching materials, delivering lectures, facilitating discussions, and assessing student performance.
3. Providing guidance and academic support to students as needed.
This is a part-time, contract-based teaching appointment. Course assignments will be based on the Department’s needs and the candidate’s expertise.

Job Requirement:
Applicants should meet one or more of the following qualifications:
A PhD degree in Communication Studies or a closely related field or Extensive professional experience in the communication industry (such as media, public relations, digital marketing, journalism, or cultural communication) or Proven teaching experience in higher education or professional training programs related to communication.


Additional requirements:

1. Native or near-native proficiency in both Mandarin Chinese and English.
2. Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to engage and support students effectively.
3. Familiarity with digital communication technologies and/or AI applications in communication practice will be considered an advantage.


Preferred qualifications:

1. Prior experience in course design or curriculum development.
2. A combination of both academic credentials and professional/teaching experience will be highly valued.

Appointment Terms:
Appointments to this position will initially be made on a fixed-term contract of one semester or one year. Continuation of appointment beyond the initial term will be subject to mutual agreement.
